DSC05578 225x300 OptionsMany of you know that my younger brother was involved in a bad car accident last week. Thank you for all of the prayers being sent and for everyone that has helped along the way. The evening he came home from the hospital, he was having what I thought was muscle spasms. I was afraid that he would feel like he had been hit by a truck (which actually… he was) the next morning. We put some of my Young Living Essential Oils on his ribcage area. I used Pan Away and Lavender. He seemed to like them and whether it was the oils, the energy work I was doing on his behalf, or everyone’s prayers… he wasn’t sore after the accident. I continued with the oils and gave him a homeopathic remedy called Acute Rescue which is an Apex product carried in certain health food shops and chiropractic offices. I also did several TAT, Tapas Acupressure Technique,  sessions during the first night for all of the trauma and inflammation that occurred in his body.

For precautionary measures, my brother decided to go to a traditional physician. He was examined and the doctor told him he thought he was experiencing muscle spasms and some bruising in the ribcage area. The doctor prescribed an anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxer for my brother. I had asked if he had any other suggestions…. moist heat, icing the area, etc. He stated we could do that, but the pharmaceuticals would be he best and obvious choice.

After we left the doctor, my brother and I had a talk. I told him that even though I personally tried to avoid pharmaceuticals, I would go pick them up if he wished. I told him I would like him to try a homeopathic remedy first and see if that would make a difference. He agreed and I found the remedy I was looking for at a local health food store.

I’ve used the remedy off and on myself for intense back pain when I have issues from a previous back surgery.  My former boss introduced me to the product many years ago and I’ve used it ever since. The product is Traumeel. It comes in gel form, lotion, and even in pill form. The store had a special combo pack containing both the lotion and the homeopathic pill. My brother  started applying it topically and taking the Traumeel orally and within a couple of days I started seeing more range of motion and less of the spasms and my brother protecting his ribcage area in his stance. He was also able to enjoy a better quality sleep which always helps the body heal.

We continue to use the essential oils, the Acute Rescue and the Traumeel.  I believe it’s made a great difference in his general well being.

Sometimes people believe there is only one way. One way to approach a problem. I’ve found it’s best to stop, take in all of the facts and information received, breathe, and make a logical decision based on all of the information I have. Many times in the past when situations would come up, I would panic, think I HAD to do what a doctor or someone in authority told me to do. I’ve discovered we are all different and it’s ok to have a difference in opinion.  It’s ok to look at other options. Too many times society wants to use a cookie cutter or one size fits all approach. I believe we are all different and what works for you, doesn’t necessarily work for me and vise versa. Be open to new ideas, gather as much good information that you can and know that you always have options.

Blessings throughout the coming week
