DSC07768 300x225 InspiredLast week I had the opportunity to hear an inspiring woman. The meeting was scheduled for 2 hours, but I could have listened to her for hours. She started off telling us a little of her back ground. She grew up in Lafayette Louisiana. Later she moved to Atlanta where she owned and operated her own real estate business. In 1999, at the age of 61, she joined forces with another agent and fought to bring Keller Williams Realty into the Southeast region. Even though the idea of  bringing a new realty company was met with discouragement, she didn’t take no for an answer and within 5 years she and her partner were being recognized as a top performing region.

She spoke of shining where you are and giving your best whether anyone recognizes you or not… and who knows, someone might be noticing. She also commented on ‘living outside of your zip code.’ Basically, she met that we all have the opportunity to grow when we live outside our zip code. There is a whole universe of discoveries and knowledge. We don’t always have to travel around the world… sometimes we learn just by getting out of our zip code.

There was so much to learn from listing to this woman.

  • Never take no for an answer, people may not agree with you or get behind your movement, but have the faith to do it anyway.
  • Don’t let age affect your decisions. Never believe that you can’t do something because of your age. There are plenty of people in our history that have created amazing business beyond the age of 50.
  • Listen with you whole body. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it and don’t let others persuade you otherwise.
  • Enjoy life. Get out there and experience life… there is so much to learn, so much to see and do.

I love to be inspired. I love to see the journey people have been on. We all have to start somewhere no matter how young or how old. We all have individual talents and abilities and we can all be inspiring to someone.

Blessings throughout the coming week
